The old Camaro V8 was near 30 MPG, but cyclinder disabling tech would help even more. Not sure why that isn't used more often, it's been around for decades.

Because they couldn't implement it reliably. And, because the initial trial run in Cadillacs back in the 80s failed so miserably, the stigma associated had to pass as well.

Now a lot of Dodge/Chrysler and GM V6s and V8s have the feature.

The C6 would have had it, but the engineers said that the exhaust note sounded so fucking awful when on 4 cylinders that they canned the idea.

Why does anyone test their performance car on the Nurburgring? Because if you fine tune it on one of the most grueling tracks in the world, you've got yourself a dandy handling machine.

Why wouldn't it? MacPherson front suspension, fully independent rear suspension (as opposed to the Shitstang's live rear axle). Its built on the exact same chassis as the Pontiac G8, which has performed magnificently.

I think the overall design is good, I really like it. I think it looks terrible in that shot.

We'll get a better look when they debut the production version in September at Indy's Back at the Brickyard event.

The design is going to be very similar to the concepts, overall. Obviously without all the brushed nickel and whatnot and it will be more usable. But the overall design concept will remain.

Even a simple cold air intake and exhaust (from the headers back) can be hassle depending on the car.
