True, but all vehicles have grown larger. Cobalts are as big as BMW 3-series use to be. Hell, BMW 3-series are as big as 5-series use to be!

But the price range is the same. $21k-$30k. We'll be looking in the $23k-$25k range.

Will this be like the family car now? Wasn't that what the Escape was?

Yeah, family car.
You mean car that your wife drives while you get shafted with that Crapalier?

Well, she drives it to and from her work and we drive it pretty much everywhere in the afternoons and on the weekend.

And I'd take my Crapalier over the Escape any day of the week, if I could only choose one or the other.

Of course buying a new car is entirely dependent on if we can sell it and what we can get out of it. If we can't get at least $14k for it, we'll just keep it.

That is not going to fucking happen. No matter how much I respect the power of staves I'm not suicidal enough to attack a boar without the weapon entailing either high speed blunt objects or very sharp/heavy weaponry.

Go for an Altima. My mother has one, and is absolutely in love with it. It drives like a dream compared to pretty much every American car she had before it.

She drove the Malibu last week and really liked it. Her biggest issue with it is she doesn't like the front.

She has yet to test drive an Altima or Accord. She loves the Accord's exterior styling, but she'll hate how busy the interior is.

I drove a Malibu as a loaner before. It was ok, but nothing special IIRC. The Altima on the other hand is just slick.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Though I will agree with you on the Cavalier.

The new 2008 or the old POS 2004-2007 model?

It made Car and Driver's Top 10 Best for 2008 for the first time...ever. Its world's better than the model it replaced and dealers can't keep them in stock. The LS we drove was the ONLY Malibu the dealer had left and he'd taken delivery of several earlier in the week.

All I know is that I won't be shot and murdered in my $35k econobox that runs on $5/gal fuel.

Some whiny cunt wants Clarkson to be fired for admitting to driving a Veyron 186 MPH on public roads. Now, just because he said he did it, does not make it true and according to the blog - Clarkson has not had a speeding ticket in 20 years.

Another version of the story here, including Alfa Romeo accusing Clarkson of speeding in a Brera they loaned him.

V8 Miata's are cool, I don't think I've seen one with a 406 though. Usually people stuff Ford 302s or GM 305s.

Ford gave the mk2 Focus a bit of a face lift to make it better fit in with the new Fiesta and the Mondeo. Gorgeous.

Trying to find a bigger picture.

That's exactly what makes a V8 Miata awesome. The one in the video isn't much of a sleeper, but it would still be awesome to blow everybody away when they're not expecting it.

You can think that all you want, but the Miata is the very definition of a true sports car. I'd fucking love to have one.

This one is for Vegeta: A non factory sponsored Baja 500 team that runs a Tundra has chosen a GM power plant over the Toyota engines due to reliability and fuel economy concerns.

"For the record, Toyota does not sponsor team TForce or its hopped-up PreRunner, but you can imagine that choosing a GM engine over one by Toyota because of reliability isn't exactly what the folks in Aichi, Japan like hearing."

Too bad it isn't powered by a chrysler engine, since chrysler is vegeta's new favorite company.

Even with 925 HP on tap, I can't love either of these cars. They just seem like overpriced nostalgia that is out of place with modern cars.

Can't have the camshaft snap mid-race.

I like the Camaro better than those Dodges but I don't like the rear of the Camaro.
